You will then receive a detailed report about your lesions via email within 24-36 hours. Expert Dermatologist Review Every case is reviewed by a dermatology consultant: The high-resolution dermatoscopic image is securely sent to a dermatologist. Your Results and Next Steps You’ll be informed of the results within a few days: Benign moles: No treatment needed. You’ll be given advice on monitoring your skin going forward. We will take imaes of your mole or skin lesion using a specialist medical grade camera called a 'dermoscope'. It uses light and magnification to help a dermatologist see how your skin looks in more detail than you would be able to see with a naked eye or normal camera. The detailed images will make it easier to spot abnormalities that may require further investigation or diagnostic tests.

Once we've captured the images of your mole, we will send them to Map My Mole for review. Map My Mole is a trusted third-party service that provides an expert opinion from a consultant dermatologist regarding your mole or skin lesion. The consultant will review the images and prepare a comprehensive report, which will then allow us to advise you on the most appropriate next steps.

We need to send some of your personal information, including your name, contact details, and relevant medical information (such as the images we take of your mole), to Map My Mole when we submit the images for review. Images are usually reviewed within 24 -36 hours after we submit them for review. We can request that a copy of the report will be sent to you as soon as its ready, otherwise it will be sent directly to Nu-Yu Advanced Skin Solutions and we will contact you to disuss the report with you one we have received it.

No. Its important that you understand that it is not possible to dianose any cancer from images,and a formal diagnosis requires a biopsy (sample removed under anaesthetic) and histological assessment. However, the consultant's report can help us identify a suspicious mole that might need further investigation such as a biopsy.

Moles, also known as melanocytic naevi or beauty marks, are normal skin growths that can appear anywhere on your body. When melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) grow in groups. A mole will be, for the most part, benign (harmless), but there is always a small risk of becoming a melanoma, which is a type of skin cancer.

Generally, we categorise moles into two main types:

• Common Nevi (or benign nevi) – common skin growths that appear on most people. They are usually coloured pink, tan, or brown, have a clear edge, and are no bigger than 5 mm wide.

• Dysplastic nevi – atypical moles, typically bigger than common nevi. They have less regular edges and may have a mixture of different colours. Studies show that, the more dysplastic nevi you have, the risk of developing melanoma is also higher.
