Skin Tags

Skin Tags are very common and most frequently found on the neck and face. They can vary in size from a tiny speck to the size of a large pea or even larger. Not to be confused with moles. They are a common fibrous skin condition commonly found in areas of friction such as the axillae, under the breasts, groin or around the neck where necklaces or collars may irritate.

Milia

Milia appear when keratin (dead skin cells) gets trapped beneath the skin and blocks the pores. They are usually white or yellow in colour and are hard to the touch. They are often found around the upper cheek and eye area.

Their exact cause is unknown although they are often associated with dry skin or low-quality oil production. They can be caused by using beauty products which are too thick for the skin which stop the skin from natural exfoliating.

Age Spots (Solar Lentiago) & Pigmented Areas

The term age spot, or lentigines, refers to the brownish spots that, over time appear on the face and body as a result of over exposure to the sun. As we age our skin is subjected to more and more sun damage.

Our skin produces melanin pigment which absorbs sunlight and helps naturally to protect our skin from UV rays. However, as we age, our skins natural ability to fend off UV rays from the sun begins to deteriorate, and as a result, we see the development of age spots.

Warts are small lumps on the skin that most people have at some point in their life. They usually go away on their own but may take months or even years. Warts do not cause you any harm, but some people find them itchy, painful or embarrassing. Warts are highly contagious and are mainly passed by direct skin contact, You can also spread them with things like towels or razors that have touched a wart on your body or on someone else's. Warts like moist and soft or injured skin.

Verrucae

Verrucae are plantar warts that commonly occur on the soles of the feet or around the toe area. They are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which is contagious through direct person-to-person contact. The HPV virus is thought to thrive in moist, damp environments such as swimming pools, changing room floors and communal shower areas. It is possible to contract verrucae simply by walking across the same floor area as someone with a verruca, especially if you have any small or invisible cuts or abrasions that make it easier for the virus to penetrate. The most common appearance is that of a small cauliflower-type growth on the soles of your feet with tiny black dots.

Cherry Angiomas

Red moles, or cherry angiomas, are common skin growths that can develop on most areas of your body. They’re also known as senile angiomas or Campbell de Morgan spots. The collection of small blood vessels inside a cherry angioma give them a reddish appearance. This type of skin growth is typically not a cause for concern unless it bleeds often or changes in size, shape, or color. They’ve been linked to pregnancy, exposure to chemicals, certain medical conditions, and climate. They often begin to appear when individuals reach 30 years old and seem to increase in size and number with age.
