Dry/Dull Skin
When skin starts to appear dry, dull and even rough it can often have a matte appearance which is no longer supple. This is referred to as lipid-dry skin.
The phenomenon of dry skin is occurring more and more frequently. Experts agree that today’s skin care habits may play a significant role. Whether it’s an over stripped skin barrier, whether - induced or a long term issue, dryness on the face can result in a weakened skin barrier function. It can make the skin feel tight, look dull, blotchy and in some cases cause irritation and skin flare ups like eczema or psoriasis.
This generally leads people to reach for excessive application of moisturiser, which is counter intuitive as the affected cells are locked in and unable to break away from the skin, so deep cleansing and exfoliation would be recommended in this instance to remove the dry skin and cleanse the pores.

A true genetically dry skin will generally be drier all year round as natural oil production is generally low. Having a Dry skin is usually genetic however, it can also be a sign of:
